Lord of the Rings Monopoly

Lord Of The Rings Monopoly

One does not simply go to jail.

There are many editions of Monopoly, but the Lord of the Rings edition is the one edition to rule… yell, you know. Besaides featuring places from LOTR, it also includes well crafted miniatures of the Fellowship and a unique mechanic involving the One Ring. It gives the wielder power, but also corrupts if used for too long.

Pros & Cons

  • Unique mechanics involving The One Ring.
  • Miniatures look great.
  • The board itself is very well designed.

Everybody has played Monopoly at least once. Unlike other editions, which only feature places and characters from the respective IP. The Lord of the Rings edition’s Ring of Power mechanic adds a unique spin to the gameplay. You’re more powerful when you have the Ring, but if the Eye of Sauron spots you, your meat is going to be on the menu.

All four Magic_ The Gathering The Lord of The Rings_ Tales of Middle-Earth Scene Boxes

Magic: The Gathering The Lord of The Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth Scene Boxes

Long have I desired to look upon new LOTR artwork.

The best thing about Magic: The Gathering’s crossover with The Lord of the Rings is the brilliant artwork that’s come out of it. Iconic characters have been reimagined, giving a whole new perspective to LOTR, apart from the Peter Jackson trilogy. These scene boxes, depicting some of LOTR’s most memorable scenes are great even for someone who doesn’t indulge in MTG.

Pros & Cons

  • You don’t need to play MTG to appreciate the artwork.
  • Comes with a frame, for display purpose.
  • The other side comes without text, showcasing the entire artwork.

Everybody unanimously agrees that MTG’s The Lord of The Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth crossover features fantastic artwork. It’s always great to see a a different adaptation of these timeless characters, especially because we’re used to the versions from the movies.

The Noble Collection The Lord of The Rings The One Ring, complete with chain and presentation box

The Noble Collection The Lord of The Rings The One Ring

May cause you to hear voices and witness a giant firey eye.

If only Sauron knew that you could just order the ring online, instead of building an army and going through the entire ordeal. While there are many avenues to get yourself a replica of The One Ring, The Noble Collection’s version is officially licensed and made out of anodised stainless steel, so you know it will look good.

Pros & Cons

  • A faithful replica.
  • Anodised stainless steel prevents wear and tear.
  • Comes with a chain.

Well, you can’t go wrong with a replica of the one item that the entirety of The Lord of the Rings is based around. While we advise you not to wear it – for fear of hair loss, split personality, and hatred for potatoes – it comes with a chain that will let you wear it around your neck, or suspend it from somewhere. Just make sure you run if you hear an ear-shattering screech.

LEGO Icons The Lord of The Rings_ Rivendell

LEGO Icons The Lord of The Rings: Rivendell

You’ll need a fellowship to help you build this one.

There are complex Lego sets, and then there’s the Rivendell set. Made up of over 6,000 pieces, this build features the entire Fellowship as it was formed at the Council of Elrond. You’ll even find an old Bilbo enjoying his retirement. This is, by far, one of the most intricate, and expensive sets available today.

Pros & Cons

  • Features the entire Fellowship and The One Ring.
  • Highly detailed and intricate.
  • Includes Bilbo’s scary face as an alternate.

There are many iconic locations in Middle-earth, but Rivendell is the last home of the Elves, who will soon embark upon their final journey into the East. This build brilliantly depicts the stunning architecture of the Elven kingdom, and can also be altered to depict a number of scenes from The Fellowship of the Ring.

The Lord of the Rings Glass Candle

The Lord of the Rings Glass Candle

May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out

While it’s just a regular candle, not Lembas Bread scented or anything, the cool thing about this candle is that once it goes down halfway, the ring inscription will start glowing. Also, there’s a gift for you once the candle is depleted – a replica of The One Ring. You can also re-use the glass for whatever you may need.

Pros & Cons

  • The ring inscription glows when the candle goes below a certain level.
  • Includes a replica of The One Ring at the bottom.

This candle is simple, but brilliant. Just imagine the inscription glowing when the candle burns down a bit. It also features a great little gift once the wax is gone, a replica of The One Ring. There are multiple little gifts in this one gift. Oh, and it’s also a great candle in itself.

BST AXN The Lord of The Rings Sauron 5

BST AXN The Lord of The Rings Sauron Action Figure

Five inches of Sauron.

Sauron is the greatest threat the free people of Middle-earth have faced since Morgoth. This action figure brings to life the Dark Lords’ terrifying form in great detail. Every piece of armour plating is recreated in this amazing figure. IOt also includes The One Ring sitting on his finger, and his dreaded mace.

Pros & Cons

  • Highly detailed.
  • Great price.
  • Five inches is a bit small.

This action figure looks very close in likeness to the movie version of Sauron. Unfortunately, the other LOTR figures by BST AXN don’t look all that great, so this is the only one we’d advise you to get. Sauron may not have got to rule Middle-earth, but he will rule your shelf. It is a bit smaller than the regular six-inch figures, but it makes up for that with attention to detail.

Tubbz Gandalf the Grey

TUBBZ Lord of The Rings Gandalf The Grey Vinyl Duck Figure

“If in doubt, Meriadoc, always follow your beak”

Gandalf is always there to offer the Fellowship a word of advice when they need it the most. And when he’s not, he’s off getting help. Imagine having a tiny version of the wizard for whenever you need some counsel. As a bonus, he’s also shaped like a duck. This Tubbz figure comes with Mithrandir’s trademark hat, beard, and smoking pipe.

Pros & Cons

  • The beard and pipe are just adorable.
  • The grey robe fals very well on the figure.
  • Does not actually give advice.

A rubber-duck shaped Gandalf is something you never thought you needed. While it bears the likeness of the Wizard, it also adds a bit of charm and cuteness into the mix. You may not have a tub to actually use it while bathing, but this Tubbz figure makes for an adorable showpiece nonetheless. The only thing missing from this collectible is his staff.

Funko Pop! The Lord of the Rings - Balrog

Funko Pop! The Lord of the Rings – Balrog

Funko of Udun

The Balrog of Morgoth, Durin’s Bane, Flame of Udun – there are few things that scare a Maiar, and this is one of them. While it is one of the most horrific things you can come across in Arda, this Funko Pop Balrog adds an element of cuteness to the mix. Its unique shape and design will also make it stand out from the rest of your collection.

Pros & Cons

  • The whip and flames are an eye catcher.
  • Pairs perfectly with the Gandalf Funko Pop.
  • May fall off your Shelf, taking the Gandalf Pop with it.

The Balrog is one of the most frightening characters in The Lord of the Rings. Something that renders swords and bows useless is undoubtedly something you should flee from, you fools. Not only does this Funko Pop depict Durin’s Bane perfectly, but it also captures its menacing nature while still adding a bit of that trademark Funko cuteness to it. Pair it with the Gandalf figure, and you’ll be able to replicate the Brige of Khazad-dûm scene on your shelf.

A creative display idea would be to keep the Balrog and Gandalf hanging off the ledge of your shelf with the rest of the Fellowship on top.
