Summary
- Solo dev TVGS released their first game into early access last week, Schedule 1, and it’s a huge hit.
- Skyrocketing to the top of the Steam charts, it currently has the fourth highest concurrent player count, placing it above the immensely popular Monster Hunter Wilds.
- Overall, it is the 39th most popular Steam game of all-time, catching up with the likes of Among Us and Terraria.
Last week, solo indie developer TVGS released its debut game, Schedule 1, a co-op management sim where you take on the role of a small-time drug dealer “rolling into a fresh town with no cash, no product and no connections”, building your empire from nothing.
And like the drug dealer who rolled into town with nothing, it has taken Steam by storm, dethroning the immensely popular Monster Hunter Wilds (which has sold over ten million copies) with a new peak concurrent count of 414,000 players.
The top ten Steam games right now, based on their 24-hour peak concurrent player counts, look like this:
- Counter-Strike 2 -1.8 million
- PUBG – 859,000
- Dota 2 – 627,000
- Schedule 1 – 414,000
- Monster Hunter Wilds – 283,000
- REPO – 245,000
- Apex Legends – 183,000
- Marvel Rivals – 174,000
- Rust – 146,000
- Naraka: Bladepoint – 143,000
Schedule 1 Is In The Top 30 Most-Played Steam Games Of All-Time
With its peak concurrent player count rising every single day, pushing it further and further up the ranks and dethroning some of the most popular triple-A games on the market right now, Schedule 1 has unsurprisingly broken into the top 30 most popular Steam games of all time, a hugely impressive feat for TVGS.
As of writing, it has the 29th highest peak player count, but it’s not far behind other huge hits like Among Us, Helldivers 2, and Terraria. To put into perspective what an accomplishment that is, Schedule 1 has surpassed the likes of GTA 5 Legacy, Monster Hunter World, Skyrim, and Payday 2.
Schedule 1 is still in early access right now, and while it’s fairly barebones, it has fostered an enormous community in just one week, sparking TVGS, ie Tyler, to pen a heartfelt message to players.
“Thank you to everyone for showing interest in the game,” he wrote. “I never imagined the response would be this massive. It’s truly rewarding to see so many people playing and enjoying the game […] I promise that there’s a whole lot more coming. You can expect significant monthly updates for the next few years.”
You can grab Schedule 1 for £14.23 on sale right now, or download the aptly titled “Free Sample” demo to get a taste.
