The Best Vivian Build, W-Engines, And Teams In ZZZ

Additionally, the overall perception of players surrounding her design and aesthetic has also been quite positive. If you’re one of those players who have pulled for the unit and are looking to build her optimally, here’s a guide that will cover all the necessary details.

Vivian Best W-Engine

Flight of Fancy main display showcase in Zenless Zone Zero.

When it comes to W-Engine choice, Flight of Fancy is the best one for Vivian, since it is curated towards her kit. However, if you don’t want to pull for the signature weapon, there are a few other options that can work for the time being.

W-Engine

Rank

Effect

Flight of Fancy

S-Rank

This weapon increases Anomaly Build Up by 40% and also increases the stat by 20 for five seconds, up to a maximum of six times. This is a perfect weapon for Vivian, since her damage scales off Anomaly Proficiency and Anomaly Mastery. Additionally, the increase in Anomaly is triggered when the equipped character deals Ether DMG, which also happens to be Vivian’s element.

Weeping Gemini

A-Rank

This is a decent substitute for Vivian, on account of the weapon’s passive. Upon inflicting a debuff on an enemy, the equipped character gains 30 Anomaly Proficiency, which increases up to four times. The weapon also comes with ATK% as a substat, which is valuable for any Anomaly character.

Electro Lip Gloss

A-Rank

This is a decent A-Rank option for Vivian since it comes with 30 Anomaly Proficiency as a substat. Additionally, the equipped character has their ATk increased by 10% and DMG by 15% whenever there is an enemy on the field with Attribute Anomaly inflicted on them.

Fusion Compiler

S-Rank

If you’re looking for an S-Rank option, Fusion Compiler is a decent option. The weapon’s passive increases ATK by 12% and increases Anomaly Proficiency by 25 for eight seconds for a maximum of three times. The reason why it is so down on the list is because of the weapon’s substat, which is PEN Ratio, and that stat is not as big of a priority.

Vivian Best Drive Discs

Phatheon's Melody Drive Disc display in Zenless Zone Zero.

For Drive Discs, Phatheon’s Melody is the best choice for Vivian. You’ll have to farm this one for the four-piece set bonus. To fill up the final two slots, you will need Chaos Jazz since it comes with Anomaly Proficiency as a bonus, which is essential for Vivian.

Drive Disc

Synergy With Vivian

Phatheon’s Melody (4-pc)

This set provides 8% Anomaly Mastery from its 2-pc bonus. Additionally, it increases the Anomaly Proficiency of the wearer by 45 whenever someone in the squad uses an EX Special Attack. It also increases the Ether DMG of the equipped character by 25%, which is a valuable stat for Vivian.

Chaos Jazz (2-pc)

The 2-pc set bonus for this Drive Disc gives 30 Anomaly Proficiency, which increases Vivian’s damage significantly.

Vivian Best Bangboos

Robin Bangboo standing on the left in Zenless Zone Zero.

For Bangboo, you need something that can trigger Attribute Anomaly and deal Ether DMG. Here are some of the best Bangboos that you can use alongside Vivian:

Bangboo

Synergy with Vivian

Robin

This S-Rank Bangboo is perfect for Vivian since it can help increase damage dealt by 45%, Daze build-up by 27%, and Anomaly Build-Up rate by 90%. It can also deal Ether damage and increase Ether Anomaly Build-up on enemies.

Devilboo

This A-Rank Bangboo is a decent substitute for Robin, though it is not as effective. If you have multiple Ether units in the team, it increases Anomaly Buildup by 40%. It can also deal Ether DMG and inflict Ether Anomaly Buildup for 30 seconds.

Vivian Best Team Compositions

Vivian standing on the left with her base stats visible on the right in Zenless Zone Zero.

Vivian, being an Anomaly unit, doesn’t work with many teams. She has specific requirements on account of her Additional Ability, where you must have a second Anomaly unit in the team. This increases the Corruption DMG of the entire party and Corruption Disorder’s DMG by twelve percent.

Best Team

Character

Role

Vivian

DPS

Yanagi

Sub-DPS

Astra Yao

Support

This is the best team for Vivian, since Yanagi can easily trigger Vivian’s Additional Ability, and her ability to trigger Disorder is massive. Even though Yanagi is an Electric unit, that doesn’t hurt Vivian at all, since it triggers the latter’s Core Passive, where she can deal massive Attribute Anomaly DMG to an enemy.

Astra Yao is also a perfect support for Vivian as the former can heal and increase the damage output of the latter quite significantly.

F2P Team

Character

Role

Vivian

DPS

Billy

DPS

Nicole

Support / Sub-Dps

This is the best free-to-play team you can use for Vivian, since Nicole is the only free unit that can trigger the former’s Additional Ability. She can also provide crowd control and reduce the DEF of enemies. When it comes to Billy, he will function as a secondary DPS, who will help increase the overall output of the team.

Since Billy is an A-Rank unit, it is highly recommended that you invest in his stats and W-Engine. This will help you run this team even in endgame content.

Vivian Skill Overview And Priority

Vivian standing while holding her umbrella in her skill display screen in Zenless Zone Zero.

Skill Overview

Vivian is a pretty simple unit to use, as understanding her abilities and her rotation will make it easy to use her in combat. Vivian’s two strongest abilities are her Core Passive: Dirge of Destiny and Additional Ability: Prophetic Tears.

Dirge of Destiny triggers an effect called Abloom, which deals massive Attribute Anomaly DMG to enemies when Vivian uses her Basic Attack on a target that is afflicted by Ether, Electric, Fire, Physical, or Ice Anomaly.

Prophetic Tears is triggered when at least one other Anomaly character in the team. The squad member needs to trigger Attribute Anomaly, and Vivian will consume one Guard Feather, thereby triggering Basic Attack: Featherbloom. This increases the Corruption DMG of all party members by 12 percent.

Vivian also has a second gimmick where she can generate Flight Feathers upon using her EX Special Attack. These Flight Feathers can enhance Vivian’s Basic Attack. Originally, Vivian would be in the Basic Attack: Feathered Strike state. However, after the fourth attack, she enters the Noblewoman state, where she can deal Ether damage to enemies and restore Flight Feathers.

However, if she is in the Feathered Strike state, and you hold your attack button after the fourth attack, she enters the Fluttering Frock state. This, however, is only possible if Vivian has Flight Feathers in her stock. Upon activating, she deals Ether damage over an area, and every Flight Feather consumed creates a Guard Feather.

Guard Feather helps with Vivian’s off-field damage ability as she can trigger Ether Anomaly Buildup on enemies whenever an ally uses their EX Special Attack.

Skill Priority

When it comes to her skill Priority, here’s what you need to follow:

  • Core Skill
  • Basic Attack
  • Special Attack

When using the character, start with Vivian and trigger up to her Guard Feather state. Swap to your party members, and trigger all the support abilities as well as Attribute Anomaly on the enemies. Switch back to Vivian and deal as much damage as possible, while also activating her ultimate to deal massive damage and also recharge her Flight Feathers.
