I remember the blissful ignorance of my pre-games journalist days, before I found out that people want to bump uglies with the cute little critters in Pokémon. Then my colleagues ran a smash or pass column, and I learned a little bit too much about the internet and the people I work with. Whatever floats your boat, I guess, which, for some, is Palworld.
Speaking at the Games Developer Conference about the April Fool’s joke turned honest to god real dating sim spin-off, communications director John “Bucky” Buckley said there is a “large and very vocal community of passionate individuals” who love these “furry creatures”. While he didn’t outright say it, those individuals definitely want to kiss their legally distinct pocket monsters. So, Pocketpair has rolled out an update for the main game that finally lets you sleep with your Pals… platonically.
After a hard day of farming and battling bosses, you and your Pals can take a hard-earned rest together!
Sorry, you still can’t woohoo them. It’s a surprisingly wholesome update that lets you snuggle with your Pals in bed. But as reported by GamesRadar, Bucky has kindly asked the community to “stop asking us to let you sleep with Pals”, which is maybe the weirdest request a developer could receive about a game where you tame and domesticate wild animals.
Palworld Update v0.6.0 Also Includes A Terraria Collaboration
There’s a lot more to this update than cuddling your Pals in bed. It also includes a “unique dungeon featuring enemies from Terraria” in which you can collect materials to craft up to six new weapons and seven armour pieces from the side-scrolling survival game.
There’s also a “Moon Lord” raid boss who has invaded Palworld, giving you plenty of PvE content to dig your teeth into.
Otherwise, the big hook to this new Palworld update is that it adds fishing, and you can even ride on Pals while using your fishing rod to salvage supplies and collect new ores, which will strengthen your weapons. You’ll be spending a lot more time surfing the waters, as there are also new tropical, iceberg, and shipwreck islands to discover, each with new Pals to find and sleep with.
