Magic: The Gathering’s long-awaited Universes Beyond collab with the Final Fantasy series is just weeks away. In the run-up to its launch, more cards have been revealed, and most recently, that’s included Clive from Final Fantasy 16.
So, what better way to promote this card than getting his actor, Ben Starr, to show it off to the fans? Yesterday, he did just that, making it so everyone who saw him at PAX East would know about the new card.
Clive Rosfield’s Magic: The Gathering Card Has Ben Starr’s Seal Of Approval
Starr shared the image yesterday, as he proudly showed off the MTG card that his character is getting as part of the Final Fantasy collab. For a better look, you can check it out here, alongside another card which depicts Ifrit.
We don’t have to wait too much longer until the full set drops. Magic: The Gathering’s Final Fantasy run is set to launch on June 13.
Clive is far from the only series protag to get a card. The crossover aims to celebrate everything Final Fantasy, rather than just a particular game. With this in mind, we’re getting cards of Cloud, Tidus, and more – as well as the companions that join them on their adventures.
One card that got a lot of attention last week was Tifa’s, and not just because everyone’s happy to see the fan favourite Final Fantasy 7 character here. No, it’s because the colours on the corner of the card are the same as the Italian flag, which reminds everyone of the time that she… made a rather memorable appearance in the Italian Senate. Oh, what a day that was.
