It looks like Diablo 4 players are going to have to put up with a bit of a dry spell, as Blizzard has confirmed that news on the game’s future won’t be shared until after Season 10.
The state of Diablo 4 has remained the same since the last update on July 1, and it appears that it will remain that way until Season 10 rolls around (as shared by Wowhead). In a new post on Twitter X, Diablo 4’s director of social and content marketing, Adam Fletcher, posted an update regarding his visit to a dentist. As fans always do, one in particular took it as an opportunity to ask something Diablo 4-related, considering Hell and Dentistry are hand-in-hand.
User itzmatt92 wrote to Fletcher under the personal dentist update, “Would love some updates or something for d4. It’s kinda stale atm”, to which Fletcher surprisingly responded. It’s important to note that not every list of patch notes is the same as in-game updates. The next patch version 2.3.2 is scheduled to arrive on July 29, but where game system updates are concerned, they’ve just been confirmed as ‘postponed’ until Season 10.
Fletcher responded in the Twitter thread, “We are in between seasons so nothing to share yet. Next update around PTR for S10/S10 Launch”, which means until this season ends, fans can expect a stagnant Sanctuary state.
Diablo 4 Isn’t Getting A Big Update Until Next Season
As revealed in April, Diablo 4 is approaching the end of its 2025 roadmap (which fans weren’t too pleased about), and that roadmap doesn’t have a Season 10 start time listed. Season 9, Sins of the Horadrim, took over Sanctuary on July 1, so if previous seasonal launches are anything to consider, the season should remain active until approximately September 30.
Other seasons (aside from Season 7 and 8) have taken almost exactly three months to conclude, with seven and eight breaking the mold, since the latter was shorter than usual and the former was longer. With all things considered (and although fans are incredibly unhappy with the remainder of 2025), it appears the bad news is that a new update is likely three months down the road. The good news is Season 10 is definitely coming, so Wanderers will just have to remain patient for further gameplay changes to the Diablo 4 equation.
