Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Finds Rare Dialogue With Jaheira

Baldur’s Gate 3 has so many different paths that it’s no wonder that we’re all still learning things about the game almost two years on from release. Now, for those of us who have never played as a druid, it turns out there’s a huge Act 1 reward that we’ve been missing out on: a whole new player title.

If you have at least one druid level, and manage to talk Kagha down instead of fighting her, she will give you the title of Faithwarden. From the way Kagha describes it, every other druid you come across should have the utmost respect for you and do as you say. Sounds like it would come in handy during your meeting with Jaheira, right?

Well… not so much. As shared by Reddit user Korrocks, Jaheira does react to you having the Faithwarden title, but it doesn’t exactly carry the weight that you’d expect. Turns out, she doesn’t respect it at all, and continues her vine-assisted interrogation regardless.

Sorry, Jaheira Doesn’t Respect Your Druid In Baldur’s Gate 3

As you can see in the screenshots, Kagha told the player character, “Among druids, your word will shine brighter than sun.” Well, not all druids, I guess, because Jaheira was having none of it.

When you first meet Jaheira, she traps your character with vines until she determines that you are not a threat to the harpers and the refugees under their protection. If you have the Faithwarden title, you can try to command her to let you go when she interrogates you, but it doesn’t work – she prioritises keeping everyone safe.

As frustrating as this is, at least Larian remembered to account for this slim possibility – which is locked behind a class and a specific ending for a quest in Act 1. It’s also very in keeping with Jaheira’s character, as she’s always been one to prioritise the safety of others over the rules. We see that in Baldur’s Gate 2, where she actually becomes an enemy of the harpers to keep the player character safe. So, it’s no surprise that she would go against the druids in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Whatever the case, you still carry the title of Faithwarden, even if it seems to mean nothing to Jaheira. Perhaps you’ll have more luck with Halsin – not that he’s ever particularly antagonistic, if you get far enough to get him as a companion.
