This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.
Summary
- Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida has revealed Patch 7.2 is called Seekers Of Eternity, and will release in late March.
- Patch 7.2 will feature new Main Scenario quests, Allied Society quests, side quests, and a new dungeon and trial.
- We also get to see screenshots from the next set of Arcadion raids, which will have “a lot of map gimmicks” like in the last set.
Final Fantasy 14 is in pretty dire need of something for the more dedicated players among us to actually do. I’ve been painstakingly leveling up all my jobs to 100, but for those that have already done everything there is to do, Patch 7.2 can’t come quick enough. Thankfully, that’s what today’s live letter was all about, as Yoshi-P revealed exactly when it will drop and what it will involve.
To start with, Yoshi-P reveals that Patch 7.2 will be titled Seekers of Eternity, and will have a very different atmosphere than previous patches. He then announces that Seekers of Eternity will be dropping at some point in late March, though a specific release date was not revealed. A date was revealed for Patch 7.18 though, which will be the final minor patch dropped before Seekers of Eternity, and will be released on February 25.

After a brief moment to talk about the plugin drama that happened a little while ago, Yoshi-P then gets into the meat of the patch. Of course, we’ll be getting a new batch of Main Scenario quests, which should be interesting given how the last patch ended. We got a few screenshots of the MSQ, including a very strange looking Sphene.
As for the new stuff, Yoshi-P revealed that Patch 7.2 will include a new set of Allied Society quests, this time involving the Mamool Ja for the gatherer roles. As for other side quests, we’ll be getting a lot more goofy Hildebrand side quests, and a new Cornservant side quest. Apparently, the devs loved all the fan art of the little guy on social media and were inspired to make a new quest.

FFXIV players need some new content to sink their teeth into and keep them occupied.
Next, Yoshi-P gives us a little look at the next dungeon added in Patch 7.2, a mysterious castle that has been built within what looks like Solution 9 called The Underkeep. A few more screenshots of a dance hall and some corridors were shown off, but Yoshi-P made sure to keep very tight-lipped about what we’re even doing there.
We then get a small teaser for the Cruiserweight tier of the Arcadion raids, revealing that one of the fights will be against a Lala with a spray can, which of course means they’ll transform into the most terrifying creature we’ve ever seen. We then get to see some of the arenas, one of which is disco-themed, and the tease that there will “be a lot of map gimmicks” in these raids.
Seekers of Eternity will also include a new Trial that we’ll have to undertake, called Recollection, which will see us going up against a big mechanical lady with a scythe made of pure energy. Testers apparently found this Trial too difficult on Normal, so some mechanics were actually taken out, which is absolutely terrifying to think about.
Yoshi-P doesn’t mention exactly when these raids and trials will drop, so we’re yet to find out if they’re coming in Patch 7.2 or later, but it’s nice to get a glimpse of them before they release in March. He does mention that there will be a second part for this live letter, in which we’ll most likely get a proper release date, so here’s hoping we get some proper footage then.
