Between the free pulls you’ll get by way of earning free gems in Madoka Magica Magia Exedra and the number you can buy for actual currency in the in-game store, you might be wondering which Magical Girls and their Kioku are actually worth the currency to pull on.

If You Love Gachas But You Don’t Like Spending Money, These Are The Games For You
Some gacha games can be quite rough on your wallet, but there are also quite a few good F2P-friendly games out there.
Judging by their attacks as they level up, their abilities given their roles in each combat situation, and how effective each form of the Magical Girls are in battle, here’s a look at the tier list for Madoka Magica Magia Exedra. Not all Magical Girls were created equal, after all, it seems.
How Do Tiers Work?
When you begin playing Madoka Magica Magia Exedra, you’ll be able to pull for several characters right from the jump after finishing your tutorial from A-Q on how to progress through the main story via turn-based combat with your Magical Girls and the Kioku fighting in their places.
The first time you go back to the Lighthouse after the tutorial, you’ll be able to visit the Fate Weave to begin using your assorted currencies to pull for characters, which you’ll be able to train, level, and use in combat to progressively build stronger teams.
Banners for Madoka Magica Magia Exedra are broken into a few different types:
- Paid Gem Banners will typically offer the most powerful Magical Girls, but you’ll need to purchase gems from the in-game shop for real cash to pull for these past the freebie ten-pull the game gives you to get you started.
- Free Gem Banners that can be pulled for using the gems you earn via story missions, logging new Magical Girls and Kioku into your Chamber of Light, and more.
- Magica Key Banners are a premium currency that’s rarer to receive, but will typically reward you with a slew of characters.
Be sure to collect all your free gems before rolling for the first time – you’ll get several freebies, and you’ll continue to get more as you unlock new characters. This is also the point where some players choose to reroll their game with a new account, if they don’t get the pulls they’re hoping for.
Each character is given a star rating depending on their drop rate, with rarer characters having higher star ratings (and stats to boot). You’ll see this exemplified as you’re pulling, using the following color coordination. You can get characters of any rarity off any banner.
Gold Bubble |
5-Star |
Pink Bubble |
4-Star |
Blue Bubble |
3-Star |
Getting extra copies of characters improves their Ascension rank, making them gradually more powerful the more copies you’ve obtained. Try to level your five-star characters first, since they’re the most powerful even with some of the upgraded lower-star characters!
