Summary
- Another Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair set is here, all centred around Deadpool.
- This comes after MTG hinted at another collaboration yesterday, just in time for April Fool’s Day.
- However, this isn’t a joke – the cards are real and can be purchased now, with the full set shadowdropped.
Magic: The Gathering just shadowdropped another Marvel Secret Lair, this time centering all around Deadpool. The cards were only just announced and are already available to buy online.
No, this is not an elaborate April Fool’s Day joke. The Secret Lair/Deadpool crossover is available now after the run was teased yesterday. Fans had sussed out that it would be another Marvel crossover, they just weren’t sure which hero it would be. But now that we know, the Deadpool theming is certainly fitting.
Magic: The Gathering’s April Fool’s Day Secret Lair Has Been Revealed
April ‘Pools Day was just unveiled, and you can purchase the cards now while stocks last
April ‘Pools Day will set you back £39.99 (£49.99 for the foil edition) and starts shipping out on April 3. It includes five new cards:
- Deadpool, Trading Card
- Deadly Rollick
- Saw in Half
- Blasphemous Act
- Vandalblast
Deadpool, Trading Card is a mechanically unique card, whereas the rest are all reprints.
The possibility of a Deadpool crossover was put forward by some fans yesterday, but others thought it would be Daredevil instead, to coincide with Daredevil: Born Again. Better luck next time, I suppose…
As with any big collaboration like this, we’re not expecting the stock to last long. The cards are still available at the time of writing, but we’ll have to wait and see how long that lasts.
It’s been a busy few weeks for MTG fans. This Deadpool crossover is hot off the heels of the SpongeBob Secret Lair release, which featured a bunch of daft, meme-inspired cards that have, unsurprisingly, sold out.
Later this year, we’re getting another Marvel crossover with Spider-Man. These cards are set to be shipped out on September 26, with pre-orders opening last month.
