Bungo Stray Dogs: Beast is an excellent ‘what if?’ story set in an alternate universe that is exceptionally dark. Essentially, in this timeline, Dazai is the Port Mafia boss and takes in Gin, while Oda becomes a member of the Armed Detective Agency and takes in Ryūnosuke.
Things go off the rails FAST in this spinoff, delivering some of the most depressing and soul-crushing moments in the series. If you’ve already loved Bungo Stray Dogs and haven’t yet dove into Beast, we cannot recommend it enough – it’s worth it!
