Players debating which skin is the ugliest in a video game is nothing new. In fact, Marvel Rivals has a few that fans aren’t fond of, with the multiple recolours usually attracting the most ire, especially The Thing’s, since all this does is change the shade of his shorts.
However, it seems like we have a winner – or rather, loser – for the title of the ugliest skin in Marvel Rivals. Anyone who places at Gold 3 or higher in competitive this season will unlock the new Golden Diamond skin for Emma Frost. Normally, a skin for a popular character like Emma would be great, but there’s one major drawback here: it’s pretty ugly.
Oh No, Emma Frost Has A Really Ugly Skin In Marvel Rivals
As the name suggests, the skin is supposed to be gold. But in reality, this is less gold and more peanut butter. Hell, even that is being generous, to be honest.
“Yeah, this skin is chopped,” says one of the commenters in the replies. “Someone on that dev team HATES Emma Frost,” says another.
Still, some players are enjoying it, even if it isn’t for the reasons the devs would have been going for. “This skin is hilariously ugly, but really it’s so bad it’s good.”
NetEase isn’t asking for our money with this skin, at the very least, since you unlock it through compeititve. And if Season 2 was proving so painful that you couldn’t climb to Gold 3, then you probably won’t feel too torn up about missing out either. I mean… what a downgrade from the Invisible Woman and Human Torch skins last season, huh?
