Taken Over Event For Pokemon Go

The Crown Clash: Taken Over Event will take place over the course of five days, starting on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 12am local time, to Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 11:59 pm local time. Below you can find all the information on the latest Team Go Rocket takeover event, including event details and bonuses you will want to take advantage of while you can.

How To Get Shadow Dialga In Pokemon Go

All players will be given access to new Special Research at the start of this event, completely free of charge. To complete this Special Research, you will need to complete different Team Go Rocket-focused tasks, including catching and purifying Shadow Pokemon and defeating different members of Team Go Rocket.

Once you have completed these different tasks, you will be rewarded with a Super Rocket Radar, an item needed to locate and battle against Giovanni, the leader of Team Go Rocket. If you successfully complete this battle against Giovanni, you will have the opportunity of catching Shadow Dialga, available in Pokemon Go for the first time with this event.

You will be able to claim this Special Research until June 3, 2025, at 9:59 pm local time.

Event Bonuses

There will be three different bonuses available throughout the Crown Clash: Taken Over Event, all having to do with Team Go Rocket and Shadow Pokemon. These bonuses include:

  • The spawn rates of Team Go Rocket Grunts at PokeStops and Team Go Rocket Balloons will be increased.
  • Charged TMs can be used to make a Shadow Pokemon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
  • There will be a larger variance in the stats of Shadow Pokemon caught from both One-Star and Three-Star Shadow Raids.

It is important that you take advantage of the ability to make Shadow Pokemon forget Frustration during this event, an attack that typically holds Shadow Pokemon back when it comes to their overall viability.

Once this event has concluded, you will no longer be able to do this until the next Team Go Rocket Takeover Event.
