Season 4 of Netflix’s The Witcher series hasn’t aired yet, but filming for Season 5 is already underway. Now, Liam Hemsworth has been spotted on set, giving us our first look at Geralt of Rivia in the fifth season.
Season 5 will be the final season of The Witcher, and the second to feature Hemsworth in the lead role. We’re still waiting for Season 4, which will be Helmsworth’s debut in the show. This comes after Henry Cavill left the show, making it necessary to recast Geralt to wrap up the story.
The Witcher Season 5 Set Photos Give Us Our First Look At Liam Hemsworth In The Finale
These photos come to us courtesy of Redanian Intelligence, who managed to snap some shots of Hemsworth on set. They draw attention to the sword on Geralt’s back, believing that this will be gifted to him by Zoltan in either Season 4 or earlier in Season 5.
Season 4 doesn’t have a release date yet, but it is set to premiere on Netflix at some point this year. This will be our first season without Cavill in the lead role, as he has now left after three seasons.
We don’t have an official reason for Cavill’s departure, but the running theory is that he was freeing up space to return to the role of Superman in the DCEU, since this was teased in Black Adam. Unfortunately for Cavill, this fell apart after a James Gunn-led shakeup of DC’s film offerings, with David Corenswet now set to play the character in the 2025 Superman film.
As for Hemsworth, it remains to be seen how fans respond to his version of Geralt. He has a lot to prove, as many fans were pleased with Cavill’s performance and were disappointed to see him leave.
