Power in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is found through a variety of methods, but none are so obviously potent as the strength locked behind the secrets of red feathers. These special, limited items will allow you to best even the most stout of bosses and fell the greatest of foes. However, this great power is not easily found.
Scattered across the world map and obtained through a myriad of ways, you will have to search every nook and cranny along your journey to maximize your potential. Some are guarded by strong foes, and others are obscurely placed. No matter the circumstances, your curiosity and skill will be rewarded.
What Are Red Feathers?
Red Feathers are upgrade items that will help you master your weapons. Weapon Mastery will increase the damage output of the weapon type equipped.
There are four tiers of red feather rarities, and as your Weapon Mastery of a type increases, the number and rarity required for an upgrade will increase.

Resetting nodes in the Impetus Repository will also refund red feathers, ensuring that if you are unhappy with one weapon type, you can switch to another category at no loss.
How Do I Find Red Feathers?
You do not need to collect every red feather in the game. Chances are, you will find more red feathers than you need for a single weapon to reach its maximum potential.
Additionally, Wu Gang will sell red feathers as you expand his shop, allowing you to fill in any gaps you might have missed.
In general, red feathers can be found by:
- Exploring areas off the beaten path.
- Defeating strong enemies.
- Defeating Blight-jar enemies.

Going down the road from the upper village where you fought a large torch-bearing miniboss to gain the Infernal Flames spell, you will find the Faint Red Feather on the ground at the crossroads just above Shu Sanctum on the shortcut route. |
How To Get Lustrous Red Feathers
Unlike the normal red feathers mentioned above, there are only two Lustrous Red Feathers in the game. These you want to find at all costs.
- The first feather is obtained by completing Li Dingguo’s questline and following him to Ferry Overlook. He will fight you in the cave and drop this feather.
- The second is in Featherfall Marsh, sitting on top of the strange golden, bony structure right next to the two giants battling.
Taking the second Lustrous Tear also rewards you with an Avian Tear, giving 100,000 Mercury when used.
Using a Lustrous Red Feather on a weapon to upgrade it to +10 will reward you with the achievement: Wielder of Power.
